Advantages

1. Reach larger , more captive audiences in short time. TV ads attract attention and awareness well, provide general messages.
2. Several medium to promote products or service like video, audio, photos,motion and emotion to get different types of responses from audiences and make customer to remember the products.

3. Take your audience anywhere using a camera. You can show the audiences not only the results but also the procedure of making the products, packaging, factory and so on.
4. Emotionally motivate the consumers.
5. Reach targeted audience easily. For example, make funny ads for children during their favourite cartoon programs and ads during religious programs and office goers during news for elderly.

6. Intrusiveness. Some audiences might leave the TV during ads, but many will stay because they do not want to miss the beginning of their show after the ads.This causes a captive audience for TV ads.

7. Viewing times, According to the study by Ball State University,average individual watched TV for more than 4 1/2 hours a day. Compare to other media like newspaper and radio, there is more times individual spend on tv. TV has regular placement of ads during that 4 1/2 hour viewing period each day.

Disadvantages

1.Cost involved is very high- Hiring cost, cost for air time and so on.
2.TV ads need to be short, it will not convey more and show relevant information about the products.

3.Tv ads have to depends on the creativeness. If the ads is not creative enough, audience will not pay attention and the product will not sell off.
4.Some ads will seems not believable.
5. Difficult to modify compare to print media.
6.Complicated procedure- involved a lots of manpower, time and equipment.(Edwin, 2010, online)
7.Difficulty in making changes to the ads. If make changes, have to update the script and re-shoot the entire ads, and cost additional money.
8.Difficult to target your core audience.
9. Credibility- Audience that just see once may not be convinced of your stability.Repeat Ads in tv is expensive.(The Benton Group, 2011, online)

10. Audience avoiding tv ads.They feel annoyed by the ads and go to bathroom or change channel during ads time
